What is Pathlab - MyWay? Pathlab - MyWay allows you to take control of your health by accessing timely and accurate laboratory testing directly from the experts. Our process is simple, secure, and designed to give you quick and reliable results without the need for a GP referral.
How does Pathlab - MyWay work? It’s easy!
- Select the tests you require from our website and add them to your cart.
- Check out and pay through our simple online process.
- You'll receive the testing order via email, which is also sent to our phlebotomy team.
- Attend one of our collection centres at a time that suits you.
- Our experienced phlebotomy team will confirm your details and take your sample.
- Your sample is analysed in our world-class laboratories, following international best practices.
- Your results are then sent to your nominated email address.
Where can I get tested? We have 40+ collection facilities across the Central North Island, including the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Rotorua Lakes districts. Our laboratories are fully accredited and operate to international standards.
Do I need to bring a printed form or receipt? No! Save a tree—there’s no need to print anything. We’ll confirm your identity on arrival and find your order in our system. No form, no fuss!
Understanding the Service
How is this different from going through my GP? Traditionally, getting a diagnostic test requires a GP appointment, discussion, and approval. Pathlab - MyWay removes these steps, allowing you to order tests directly, whenever you need them. However, we do not replace a GP—we simply provide an additional option for those who want direct access to testing.
Is this a replacement for my GP? No. Pathlab - MyWay is a complementary service, not a substitute for professional medical care. If your results raise concerns, we strongly recommend discussing them with your GP or book an appointment with our affiliated virtual telehealth group, Practice Plus.
Ordering & Testing Process
How do I order a test? Visit the Pathlab - MyWay website, browse our available tests, and add the ones you need to your cart. After checkout and payment, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions on what to do next.
Can I book an appointment? There’s no need to book—simply visit one of our collection centres at a time that suits you.
How long does it take to get my results? Most results are available within a few days, depending on the test. You’ll receive an email notification when they’re ready.
How will I receive my results? Your results will be sent directly to the email address you provided when ordering.
Understanding Your Results
How do I interpret my results? We provide links to trusted medical resources to help you understand your results on this site. If anything is unclear or unexpected, we encourage you to consult a healthcare professional. We have partnered with Practice Plus, a national telehealth provider.
What should I do if my results indicate a health concern? If your results suggest anything abnormal, we strongly recommend discussing them with your GP or our affiliated virtual telehealth group:

You will need a telephone, New Zealand phone number, email address, and identification.
- These appointments are 30 minutes in duration and a double consultation cost will apply - $159 (exclusive of GST).
- Immediate online care — same day care, video or telephone call with the next available online GP.
- Scheduled online care — book an appointment at a date and time that suits you.
- Many clinicians are multilingual or interpreting services are available.
- We will send you a video link 15 minutes before the Clinician is ready to see you.
- If you need a prescription for your pharmacy, it’ll be emailed to your preferred one and your consultation payment receipt will be sent to your email.
- Your patient notes from the appointment will be shared with your regular Doctor for continuity of care, unless you request we don’t do this.
- Please ensure your phone settings allow private number incoming calls as our clinicians may use an unlisted or private number.
Privacy & Security

Will my GP receive my results? No, your results are sent only to you. It’s your choice whether to share them with your GP.
Costs & Payments
How much do tests cost? Prices vary depending on the test. The cost of each test is displayed on our website.
Do you offer refunds? Once a test has been purchased and processed, refunds are generally not available. If you experience an issue with your order, please contact our support team for assistance.
Additional Support
What if I don’t know which test I need? We provide detailed descriptions of each test to help you decide. However, we cannot provide medical advice. If you’re unsure, we recommend speaking to a healthcare professional before ordering. Our affiliated virtual telehealth group, Practice Plus can certainly assist.
Can I order a test for someone else? Currently, all tests must be ordered by and for the individual being tested to ensure privacy and compliance with medical guidelines.
