Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulphate (DHEAS)

Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) is a male sex hormone, produced mostly in the adrenal glands, in both men and women, with some also produced in the testicles and ovaries. The DHEAS test can be used in combination with other hormone tests to investigate a range of conditions caused by the over- or underproduction of male sex hormones, such as masculine physical characteristics in young females and early puberty in young males and enlargement of the adrenal glands.
