EBV serology is commonly requested as part of the assessment of suspected or recent Epstein-Barr virus infection, or to determine evidence of previous infection. EBNA IgG is always tested and VCA IgG and VCA IgM may be reflexed as appropriate
Testing may include VCA IgG, VCA IgM and EBNA IgG.
