Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)

Also known as prostatic marker or total prostate specific antigen, this test is used in screening for prostate cancer (and for monitoring response to treatment).

Many other factors, besides prostate cancer, can cause a raised PSA, so this test does not definitively confirm or rule out prostate cancer.
